Matt and LD were married in Palm Springs, CA at the gorgeous O’Donnell House overlooking downtown Palm Springs. They wanted to use the retro and colorful Palm Springs backdrop as an inspiration for their wedding. We created a wedding that was vibrant, modern and truly unique to them!

Can you believe this beautiful, lush backdrop is right here in San Diego? Cortney and Chaz chose Paradise Point Resort & Spa to host their unforgettable wedding weekend with family and friends. To get away from their chilly hometowns of Chicago and Seattle, everyone flew down for a destination wedding in Mission Bay over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Guests stayed at the Paradise Point Resort and relaxed throughout the weekend, getting together on the beach for bonfires and laughing the night away together. The weather turned out to be spectacular on the wedding day, clear blue skies and some sunshine too! Cortney and Chaz said “I do” in a cozy grove of tropical trees. Blooms by Breesa Lee created beautiful floral arrangements to decorate the ceremony and reception spaces. Guests enjoyed cocktails while soaking in the incredible view from the balcony outside of the ballroom. After a delicious dinner and cake by Cute Cakes, guests danced the night away to awesome music provided by Matt Phipps of Choice Entertainment and took fun photos in the Red Photo Booth. All photography courtesy of True Photography and wedding coordination by Sonya of Francine Ribeau Events. We wish Cortney and Chaz a lifetime of love and happiness, cheers!

yuna + charles engagement at la valencia

When Charles approached me to help create a beautiful escape to propose to his wife, he left no detail out. Attention to detail was key as was his love for his fiance. Yuna walked into the hidden gem on the 11th floor at the historic and charismatic La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla and was in awe at the beautiful collection of flowers designed by Breesa Lee. The tablescape for two was draped with a cascading garland of blush peonies, ivory garden roses, light pink stock and white hydrangeas. Unique gold accents were added in the silverware, on the candle votives, and on the desserts too! The linens selected were a perfect compliment to the candle and flowers scattered all over this 11th level haven. The view was beautiful and the memories that Charles and Yuma created was a dream come true.

It was a gorgeous day with a beautiful view of the ocean, and the moment was perfect. Charles happily got down on one knee and proposed to Yuna. It was a dream come true and we were so delighted to be a part of this special occasion!

terra + brian

By

,

Once upon a time there was a strapping young man and a blonde bubbly girl, that both happened to be at the right place at the right time. The young man was named Brian, a successful business owner living in LA County at the time. The girl was named Terra, a fashion executive that had just moved back to California from New York City exactly one month before.

It was a Friday night, and they both were out with friends at a bar called “ROSCOES” , in a popular area of town named Fullerton. The drinks were flowing, and as you can imagine after a few beverages, Mother Nature Calls! Terra stood in line for the bathroom, waiting for someone that was taking an abnormally long time to come out. All of a sudden, she hears someone behind her trying to strike up conversation. It was Brian, and they immediately began talking so intensely that she didn’t even notice the bathroom was now free!

After an hour long conversation, Terra gave Brian her number, and in typical guy fashion- he waited the “play it cool” 3 days to text her. When he did, the two went out on their first date at Javier’s. It was during this date that Terra realized Brian was not the typical guy she had been out with before, and knew she had to go out with him again to see where it could go. 3 years later, the two are still happily in love!

We are loving these adorable engagement photos of Terra and Brian and we can not wait for their upcoming wedding!

I, Jenna, first met Ed and Shannon at a quaint off-the-beaten-path coffee shop in Encinitas. I could tell right away what a creative couple they were by the way they dressed and by the way they portrayed themselves. Alongside them lay their cute large dog named “Chewy.” He was so precious and you could just tell fit so perfectly into their lives. Right away you could feel the love they had for one another was incredibly strong and vibrant. Not only did I immediately fall in love with the couple that they were, I also fell in love with their wedding vision and their desire to truly personalize as many aspects of the wedding as they could.

Shannon, who works at the Museum of Photographic Arts, really loves texture and color and wanted bring that into the wedding with various greenery and highly textured and funky blooms, such as king protea, blushing bride, scabiosa pods, dahlias, and eucalyptus. It was love at first sight when she walked into Isari Flower Studio and met the amazing Tam Ashworth for her design consult. For the wedding, not only did Tam create arrangements to compliment the Bernardo Winery but also added fresh pops of color in an array of blushes, pinks and yellows. We all know what an amazing job Tam and Co., do and as the flowers arrived, Isari did not disappoint. They were stunning.

But it wasn’t only in the florals choices that showcased Shannon and Ed’s creative side. Ed, being a musician, wanted to really personalize the moment the first time he saw his gorgeous bride walk down the aisle. One of the most special moments of the day was when Ed played Cat Power’s “Sea of Love” on guitar as Shannon was escorted down the aisle by her mother. It was simply perfect and everyone, even me, got a little teary-eyed when Ed’s eyes first saw Shannon while he was playing this meaningful song to her and for her.

While working with Shannon and Ed over the last five months before their wedding, I learned both Ed’s parents had passed away. Ed wanted to honor them in some sort of meaningful way and to truly include their presence somehow. Ed’s dad had an amazing funky tie collection, so one day, Ed dug into his closet and retrieved the ties his dad once wore. This turned out to be one of my favorite aspects of how they brought in their personal touches into their wedding. You could tell how happy Ed and his family were to see his father’s ties adorning the necks of Ed’s groomsmen, which consisted of his closest friends and family.

The floral choices and ties were just the start of the personal touches from Shannon and Ed’s vision. Ed is also a creative at Vans shoes, and so, he created custom Vans for the entire bridal family, and for Shannon. A part of the vision they had for their wedding was to be super laid back and casual. These unique vans really played into that. The photos Natalie Bray took capturing the playful moments of the family sporting their Vans just puts the biggest smile on your face.

Through the photos, you may also notice the artwork carried throughout their wedding and invitations. Friend, Greg Pnut Galinsky, who is based in the Bay Area, created the motif for Shannon and Ed, which can be seen in the custom wine classes which held the escort cards, custom pint glasses which was also used to serve craft beer, and custom tote bags which were all favors for the guests to keep.

And if all that wasn’t enough, good friend, Brian, a pastry chef from local and vegan bakery Skinny Donuts created four different flavors of pure vegan deliciousness. I think the best part was the guests couldn’t even tell they were vegan! Not only did Brian bake and glaze these circles of heaven, he also baked a scrumptious mini cake for Shannon and Ed to cut into and enjoy. Also side, Wild Thyme Catering’s dessert bar to give a unique variety of all kinds of yummy for the guests to enjoy.

All in all, this was a very special wedding for me to be apart of and be able to get to know this wonderful bride and groom and their family and friends. It was a wonderful experience and we really had a lot fun with this planing process. Ed and Shannon weren’t afraid to break away from tradition to truly make the day special with their personal touches spread throughout the entire day.

Ed and Shannon are the definition of a couple so in love it follows them everywhere they go and can be seen by anyone. I feel so honored to have been chosen to go through this journey with them.
